I needed to make a rant about racism as it honestly makes me sick to my stomach. Today I was watching the youtube video of the woman on public transport in London who is being absolutely vile to other passengers because they are not the same colour skin as her and she thinks they need to "go home". Firstly skin colour doesn't determine race and secondly just because someone has a different skin colour than your own it doesn't mean that person is a foreigner. Let's not forget the way the (White British) which she seems to think are so elite have treated and abused other races for our own advantage. Honestly just watching the video made me feel so sick and what makes it worse is that there are children who she is spreading her filth to who will know no better. This is just one example there are plenty of others I could bring up. (Racism in football is really bad like the Dani Alves banana throw and other sickening incidents)

I just can't stand people who think that they are superior over anyone because of their skin colour or race or whatever. Now I'm not saying that only white people can be capable of racism (far from it). Every race that has ever existed has had people that will judge and insult people that are not part of that particular race and I just think it's backward and ignorant.

The world would be a much nicer place without racism and whenever I see people being racist it actually makes me disgusted that people are so hateful for no reason. It's actually very sad to see, what makes it worse is that racism is passed down through generations as children are taught to look down on other races when they are young and don't know any better.

We are all humans so we should be tolerant and nice to each other. Unfortunately this is the world we live in though.

What are your thoughts?

Well it's just the world we live in. Yes it's sickening but no one is born racist and a lot of people get it drilled into our head from a young age. We look at theses racists the same frustrating way they look at us. They can't understand how the decent of us who were brought up well unconditionally like every human no matter race or religion.

Racism doesn't exist. It's just dumb people that get offended by words. Also, majority of " racism " comes from the shortening of country names. E.G " n word " for Nigeria, " p word " for Pakistan, " c word " for Chinese. Etc.

I live in Britain so if someone shortens downs that word and says " You're a Brit " am I supposed to get seriously butt hurt and cry racism? No. It's a word. Get over it and stop whining.

The ignorance is too blinding.... first of all, if someone says you're a Brit, that isn't offensive because it isn't associated with anything negative. But, if you called a German a Nazi, a Muslim a terrorist, or yes, a black person "the n word", those words have negative meanings towards the groups you direct them towards and those people have a right to be offended.

But, that's not really the issue that I have with your stupid, naive posts. The problem is that you generalize racism to simply "calling people names". Racism isn't just that, and the fact that you think it is shows your clear lack of education.

Definition of racism according to Wikipedia:
Wikipedia wrote Racism consists of both prejudice and discrimination based in social perceptions of biological differences between peoples

Prejudice: prejudgment, or forming an opinion before becoming aware of the relevant facts of a case.

Discrimination: action that denies social participation or human rights to categories of people based on prejudice.

Racism isn't name calling, it's judging a group of people based on their skin colour and discriminating against them because of that. A few acts that are a result of racism include, but are certainly not limited to:
- not getting employed because of your skin colour
- being arrested by the cops because of your skin colour
- being followed around a store because people might assume that you steal something
(again because of race)

Some of the more extreme events caused by racism include but are not limited to:
- slavery in the US/Europe
- South African apartheid
- the holocaust

But again, feel free to spew the bullshit of "racism is just words". The fact that 5 members liked your original post just goes to show how sheltered and unaware some people on TTG honestly are.
