you need to put the latest update for whatever game your playing on the jtag . so if you played black ops online on your retail you will need to put TU2 on your jtag msg me if you want some help .

okay so lets say iwant to do a system link for myself on mw2 if i have reatil xbox with a router and a xenon jtag wit mw2 files installed with patches for mw2 but no router? would i need to buy a router?

Your jtag and your retail xbox both need to be hooked up to the same router, this puts them both under the same LAN. If they are under different LANs, they won't be able to discover each other. Also you will need TU6 installed on your Jtag, because that's what version is on your retail, and both need to be on the same game version as well.

sorry im new to this but i only have 1 wirless adpter on retail xbox do i have to get5 1 for JTAG?

whats tu6 im a newb, sorry so will this work if i get o wirless adapters and hook them up to same router will tht nwork im also on the old dash i jus want to do system link lobbies. IDC for online my consoule is unbanned though but if i could play online with JTAG like private match and stuuf tht wud be sweet!

I'm pretty sure any way you connect it would be fine (ethernet or wireless). I use two etherent cords right now. And TU6 is Title Update 6. Title Updates are the updates that tell you you need to update when you are connected to LIVE and start the game up. A quick google search can help you find and install it. Or if you want to do it the easy way, you could remove the storage device from your retail xbox and put the one from your jtag INTO your retail xbox, you would just have to connect to live and it will ask you to apply the update.
