After using both the PS4 and Xbox One it's clear that they both have their pros and cons. One thing I liked about the PS4 is that overall it seemed like a faster console when opening apps, running them, and playing games. The appearance of the UI on the PS4 is extremely plain and I prefer the appearance of the Xbox One's UI. If you played the Xbox 360 when it first came out you would know that there is a huge difference of the dashboard and UI from where it is now to where it started. The UI used on Playstation has barely changed from what I can remember.
Slow downloads are something that I have not experienced yet on my Xbox One and this can be caused by your internet speed so it's probably an issue on your end.
Another thing that I didn't like about the PS4 is that really none of my friends played it so I was always playing by myself and we all know that can get boring quickly. I am not saying that this is the case for everyone. If you have friends that play the PS4, I think your experience will be much better than mine.
I have always been a Xbox person and played the Xbox 360 since it first came out so trying to make the transition from Xbox to Playstation wouldn't of ended well. That is why I went with the Xbox One and I would agree that there is room for improvement.

I couldn't have agreed with you more. Both systems are in need of change still, but both are great systems. I am not what you would call a 'fanboy' but have usually used Microsoft's consoles more than Sony's. Microsoft is in a HUGE hole right now, but with these preview programs, Microsoft is proving to us that they are working hard and listening to feedback

I have no experience with the PS4 or PS3 but with that in mind, I would say the Xbox one is a good upgrade over the 360. Even though at this point I still use my 360 more just because of the library of games, hopefully in the future the xbox one will have a really good selection as well.
