doesnt work,i have also tried this,so my isp is UPC,as im in ireland,i rang up UPC and was like i want to change my IP and they said its not to do with them,the router i use which upc provided is cisco,so if i ring them up and ask them does anyone think they could change it?
Cisco has nothing to do with your IP. That is only the company that manufactured the router.
well i rang my isp today and they said its nothing to do with them they cant change it,they said its the routers manufactor Cisco
And that leads back to my post prior to the one you quoted. ISP customer supports are stupid if you say router they think local IP not external. Do you use a router connected to a modem or is it a router-modem?

No, is there a yellow Ethernet port on the back of your router? If not then is there a coaxial cable?
