2. I don't understand the 1.8 snapshot. Is that released yet? If it is, how do i apply it to a server that i will make?
Please help me understand. I will +Rep!!

If you want to make a server for others to play on, I would recommend a host, and not host it from your computer. Also make sure you give your server at least 1gb of ram, if you computer has like 6gb of ram.

There are a few ways to go about starting a server. Here are the most obvious.
1. Pay for one! That's right. There are numerous websites that will offer to host you a server and give you full control over them with certain custom features which are dependent on how much money you're willing to spend. Nothing a quick Google search can't solve!
2. Really try hard to start your own; however, if you're planning on hosting a server for people to play on and have fun, you'll find yourself quickly running for cover. Only make a server if there are only going to be like 5 people on at a time depending on your computer. The first time I made my own it took some practice so just keep trying.
Hope all goes well!
