Since i hate playing on HDMI i play on VGA but this causes me tons of problems when it comes to recording games.
I recently sold my pvr and now im considering buying a Elgato game capture but its for HDMI only..
Will the following work :
HDMI -> VGA Male Converter( the one with spikes ), The HDMI cable goes to the ELgato and the VGA male goes to my Monitor.

First of all, Elgato is not HDMI only, it works with the A/V Cables, and second the Converter will work properly but may distort the resolution! Hope I helped!
