New monitor, makes my game lag? Help ASAP please.Posted:

I just got my new BenQ GW2450 hooked it up and when I went on CS:GO I has around 20FPS (give or take) and I usually get around 60-75. I took the resolution off of 1920x1080 and moved it to 1600x900 and I was getting around 30 FPS. Any help here? No I idea what is going on.

If you have an integrated card and you plugged the VGA/DVI into the motherboard, not the external GPU, that could be the problem.
What was the monitor you had before. Was it a 720p?

My old monitor was yes but it broke so long ago I've been using my TV and I do believe its 720p but I'm not 100%

I have a GT 610 because my 660 broke and I cant afford a new card. I got the 660 when I bought the PC.

I have a GT 610 because my 660 broke and I cant afford a new card. I got the 660 when I bought the PC.
Hold on a minute let me catch my breath here and think.......
GT 610 is terrible. It is not a gaming card in anyway. You will not be able to run CS:GO unless you bump down to 720p WINDOWED with video settings at low. Not even then will you get 60fps. If you do, holy hell.
