someone needs to do it... These people need to be introduced to the site, so let the post boosters do what they do.
In my opinion post boosting will get them nowhere and they will continue.
People who only post in the introduce yourself section are looked down upon.

I understand what you're saying but people are doing it for the wrong reasons. The majority of people posting there are clearly boosting. I'm sure there are some people that aren't but realistically there are very few of those people.
Yeah I totally got you, I see a lot of people doing it as well.

I see little point in posting read the rules as when you sign up the rules are available, as for staying active, again a silly post in my opinion. If someone wishes to be a one post wonder that is their choice, advising them to remain active is dependent on circumstances in question.
Point I'm getting at is if every user (which is typically what happens) posts the same thing, "Stay active and read the rules", does it not give off a tacky image to the new member? Example:
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Another example, easy to catch people who like to post count boost:
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
I also think there should be a cap on posting in there, such as 3 posts a day OR no post count. Another quota could be at least a 3 month wait before you can post in there as Ive seen people who've only just joined and that same day they are posting "Read the rules and stay active".

I understand what you are saying but I don't mind people who go there to welcome people to the site as I do now and there but I don't like people that go in there everyday and just post the same thing every time as that is anoyying.

Yeah I agree with you there. I just hope the site introduces some sort of post-boosting preventative such as 'no post count' or 'limited posts in that section' as Fielding suggested.
