Kids in Africa have had no impact on my life.
Do you want us to live in constant mourning for people who have had no effect on our life?

They have adverts running constantly
They have people in the streets constantly
They have people going out there to help constantly
We are told about how much worse off they are constantly

So excuse me if I am more saddened by the death of someone I truly admired.

This is pretty much how most of us feel... I also grew up watching on on TV and loving his movies. And in all reality, two of his movies are my favorite movies of all time those movies being Jumaji and Hook.

Miss wrote It's funny how people also say "He's in a better place now". No, he's not. Suicide is a sin (if you're religious). And if you're not religious, than their is no such thing as a "better place".

To be fair, nonexistent is a better "place" than to live in a world of pain. I'd think he is in a better place even if that place is nonexistent and nothing at all.

Now. Im going to make this very clear. A human life is a gift, and no matter the shape or form it is worth everything. No matter who it is.

However.

As people who thrive due to social culture, we look up to our upper class our celebrities.

I cant name you kid who died in Africa, im sorry, but I doubt you can either.

Im not saying their life doesn't matter or is worthless, im saying it impacts far less people.

With millions of fans a celebrity is going to make front pages. People die everyday... its not a rare occurrence, but when it is one of the celebrities, we celebrate their life, and the joy they brought us...

We have all had people in our lives pass. Just because they are lil kids in Africa doesn't mean we should pay attention anymore than a random guy intexas passing away. It happens.... if you can't name the person. Why does it impact your life.

There's still a lot of debate surrounding the suicide issue [when it comes to Christianity at least]
If murderers like Moses and David can be forgiven for their Sins, and Jesus bore all of our Sins on the cross, then why wouldn't he bear the Sin of suicide too?
If suicide is simply self-murder then surely Robin would have been given a chance to repent.

I'm not religious, but saying anything with certainty about a book which is 2000 years old is pretty audacious.

lortar wrote So you would feel worse for a single man who made you laugh a few times dieing that innocent children who didn't ask to be in their situation starve or die from parasites and drink form water with their own **** than someone who took their own life by their own choice.

If you care so much about those people go out there and help them instead of trying to make your point on a gaming forum. Celebs is a misused word, I would call Robin a childhood hero and entertainer he had more of an impact in my life than a child in Africa, and why are you only talking about the kids in Africa? What about Europe, America, Asia...?

Yeah pretty much.

Enough money is pumped into that country each year and they just rely on the help of other nations.

Although i dont agree with OPs post this comment is truly ignorant and one of the stupidest ive read in a while. Please learn something about history before making comments about it.

I agree with this.

Also, you cannot help the people in Africa and places like that because of the government. If they do not want to help themselves, how can you expect anyone else to be able to help? The government hoards the money instead of helping the people as they should.

It's not a matter of "who do we care more about" it's the fact that everyone should know Robin Williams and most people love his films. We dont know all the kids in Africa dying yes it's sad that they are and we do care, but the whole world isn't gunna advertise about every person in the world that dies.
