Why do Americans dislike Russians so much?
I came to America to spend time with my American cousin, he was born in Russia too. We would go to the cinema and people would glare us at when we would speak Russian. I don't get it, I though Americans had good hospitality.
Thank you all. I appreciate the responses. One thing how ever, it would be nice if you didn't use slang. I'm not quite fluent with American and UK slang. Thanks for making me feel welcome.

Who knows, But I think Russians are pretty cool, I'm not american I'm Canadian, I would love to meet a Russian, haha. Just don't worry on what they think continue on like normal.

They didn't dislike you, they probably thought the language you were speaking was just different from what they usually hear. It's no big deal.

If i was out somewhere and i heard someone speaking a different language i would turn and look at them too. Not to be rude or anything but i would just look to see who was talking.

I personally have no issue with Russians. Just the government.

I personally do it dislike people just because the are nonamericans
Also people hate for example :Afghans for 9/11 yes they did it but it doesn't mean all afghans did it.
There's bad people and good people everywhere. Just because maybe Russia had communism doesn't mean all russians are commies
I think Russians are awesome and want to learn your language
