Hello all! This is my first post here, and I would like to say thanks for reading it. onto the business.
So, today I have figured out how (theoretically) swap engines using HxD. I tested it with a stock VW beetle, and a VW beetle with a Vr6 in it. I found the codes that changed on the car setup file when you put a s vr6 in a stock beetle. I took the code from the vr6 and typed it into the stock beetle engine code section. Saved, injected the new setup that had a stock motor (labeled stock in the setup menu) and transferred it back to my xbox. Went to the beetle saved car setup menu and picked the one that was name stock setup, that i changed the engine code on, and boom, it now had a vr6 in it. obviously i could have just swapped it from in game, but I am showing that i thunk i have found the engine code space for the setups in hxd. BUT..... i then tried taking the engine code from a suped up skyline gtr, and putting it in a stock supra and saving the setup. When I went in game and to the supra saved setup menu, i looked at the saved setup. it said the setup had 9999999999 and some hp and some other stats, and was f class 99. When I tried to apply the setup, instantly my game freezes.... every...time..... The engine has swapped, or something has, but it just keeps freezing before i even get to drive it. I thought i was soooo close..... if you have any input on this or any ideas on how to get past this or something to do different, let me know and I will try, or i will tell you how i did it. Thanks

Yeah, i figured that, but from all the things i have been reading it seems like their is a bunch of people who know something but aren't telling people. Dead end i guess.....

you can only do engine swaps via jtag/rgh/iso/xk3y

so i can do it that way with hxd, just needs to be jtag or iso?

well no you need to edit the databases and its pointless to do things with rgh/jtag/iso in hex

Today was the first day that i even used hxd for anything, and I thought i was on to something haha... Guess i'm only good enough to camber cars
