I'll be building a PC in the next few weeks/months and this is a rig I came up with.

I plan to play most of today's titles on high with a stable FPS of around 60.

I will mostly be playing League of Legends, Battlefield 4 and possibly Advanced Warfare.



I'd appreciate it if you guys rated this build and suggested any necessary changes to it. Please keep in mind that my budget will be around 400 GBP.

Otherwise, swap the 280 for a 270x.

I'd get this, it uses better quality components and will perform better in most tasks.

I knew I was going to get some suggestions to switch to the G3258 which was initially the CPU I considered but this PC is also going to be for school work too (CS Coding & Photoshop) which is why I chose the FX-6300 for it. I want the ability to multi-task smoothly. I also don't want to overclock.

If I'm wrong, sorry - I'm new to this stuff.

The G3258 is the better all rounder due to the two powerful Haswell cores, compared to the old slow FX cores. You rarely would get a benefit from a six core and the AM3+ platform is poop in comparison.

Can you explain why I should get the G3258 against the FX-6300 or i3 4130?

I really don't want to need to overclock when gaming. This PC will also be for my school work (computer science mainly).

Buxtyy already explained. The G3258 out-performs an i3 and an FX-6300, and it costs less as well.
