Hello all.
First let me get my specs out of the way.
I'll be playing Bf3 for around 10 minutes, and my CPU temp goes up to around 80 Degrees (C).
On Idle it sits around 36-37C.
Not sure If I have too much thermal compound, not enough, or if my Cooler just isn't powerfuly enough.
EDIT: Many people are telling me to reseat my Cooler, I have already done that. wiped all of the old paste off with rubbing alcohol. horizontal grain of rice and reseated the cooler. I am contemplating on finding another cooler to fit my mobo. I currently have a Hyper 212 EVO, but it doesn't fit the mobo for some odd reason.

CPU: Intel Core i5 4440 (I know )
GPU: EVGA Nvidia GTX 770
Booting the game from an SSD
Also, I'm using the stock cooler Because my Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO didn't fit on my mobo for some odd reason.
I am also using the Arctic Silver thermal compound.
Also, Air cooling (with Positive Air Pressure). All intake is through a Filter. I have checked for dust, there is little to none in my case.

Reseat the stock cooler. Also, replace the thermal paste. I took off an old heatsink which I previously replaced the thermal paste with AS5. I put way too much on which I dint realise at the time
Remember, the thermal paste is there to transfer heat where the heatsink dont make direct contact with the CPU [they are not flat at all] so you dont need much.

Already done that, Horizontal grain of rice. Maybe my i5 just can't handle the load?

I use a i5 3340 and it stays below 58c no matter what i do.
Does the CPU cooler have good clearance? Do you get rid of absolutely all paste before you redo it?
(Also, why are you sad about having an i5 4440, better processor will barely affect your framerate - it's a really good processor)

80C for a i5 is not really that hot. Haswell's max temps are very high. I have seen my Pentium at around 100C in games.
But if you;re that worried about it, just re-seat the cooler or get a cheap aftermarket one...
The Raijintek Aidos is a great little cooler for the price.

80 is not that bad, your components were made to become hot and perform under heat. Your CPU will normally shut off right around or before 115C. If you are that concerned take it apart and reapply thermal paste and reset your coolers.

Are you overclocking? That will be the cause of the temps when using the stock cooler.

No K version of that one? I forget how many different variations of the intel core CPUs there are now.
Thought I would ask as most people leave the K off when posting specs.
