It's completely random. I've had times where it takes around 6-7 minutes and others closer to around a hour. It will come sooner or later though.

It works better then the old one but I'm not sure if its entirely worth it to get the pike. The first time it took around a hour to get the pike but the second one took around 5 minutes. I guess if your lucky it would help loads

I was doing it solo after finding a pike after 5mins. They took too long between each spawn and would run out of the cave each time. You need multiple people otherwise it's a waste. Also a random event happened and something landed on my pike and blew it up.

Or just get a scout rifle that prints ammo with every kill and bring a few ammo synthesis? Ammo only costs 100 glimmer each and I can go for an hour just off of the gun printing it's own ammo.
