I get around quite a bit.. All they want to do is earn commission by telling you stuff that is complete garbage. They have minimal to zero knowledge in the field.

They're salesman

As i was saying, generalising. The people who work at my local currys are very knowledgeable in the field. And no, im not saying that because i have no idea about computers and they have more knowledge than me, because i do have knowledge in them, i'm saying that because iv asked questions and they seemed to give reasonable answers and more.

Not true at all the PC World where I live all the staff are very knowledgable about PC/Laptop issues. Saying most is a wrong assumption because yes it is a paycheck at the end of the day but if you you see a PC world employee standing around picking his nose .....avoid him/her.

But back to the original Rant/discussion, most new Laptops come with a McAFee trial anyway so trying to upsell Norton/McAfee is a joke and bad practise at best.

PC World has gone downhill so much it's full of Xbox games the other day I tried to get a keyboard and mouse for my computer and they had none plus trying to get a copy of Battlefield 4 and they only had it for the Xbox ?? PC World my A$$
