i got a free iphone 4s new but is blacklisted on att what options do i have or can it be used is on ios 6 by the way

If it is black listed then you can't take it to AT&T legally. And, therefore, you can't use the phone.

Not sure if unlocking the phone will help you, im not to familiar with Blacklisted phones

Sorry but it is essentially a brick.

You can attempt to unlock it to take it to another GSM network but many unlock wholesalers specifically say "No blacklisted phones" so if you do order an unlock you may not get the unlock or even get your money back. I wouldn't risk it for a 4s.


Your best option is to see if you can contact the original owner to see if they can report it found and clear up the blacklist on AT&T's end.
