Considering the fact I have the kinect-less Xbox one, I really enjoy the new update in October 2014. All you have to do is double tap the Xbox button and the kinect controls are basically there. You can snap an app, unsnap an app, and you can record game clips that aren't automatically saved. For example, every touchdown you score in Madden NFL is automatically saved as a game-clip. Say you get a cool looking run, juke, catch, etc. now all you have to do is double tap the Xbox button on the controller and press x(unless you have a kinect). Thank you Microsoft!
