I am looking for a laptop for college and I want it to be able to run games as well as other program's such as autocad.

My budget is 950 GBP (pounds) or 1500 USD (dollars)

Any help would be appreciated.

You're better off getting a Gaming PC dude to be perfectly honest.

You can then upgrade parts whenever you want and they also run a million times better.

Just an idea for you dude as I don't want to see you wasting your money on something when you could get a better deal for your money.

Depends on what type of games you want to play and what spec you want. Heres what spec i would recommend at minimum.

Intel I5.
SSD if possible no lower than 256 - Not a big deal if you can't.
8g Ram

Like you said though, you want to play games. A lot of good spec laptops these days come without a disk drive because it makes them lighter/thinner. If you need a disk drive for the games you want then invest in a laptop that has one, as carrying an external one around would get annoying.

Not great with laptops, but something like this should do the job;

I suggest MSI or Cyberpower. I personally got a cyberpower since there was more customization then on the MSI site.
You probably want there UK site if your not in the US

Also new egg sometimes has deals that make buying from there cheaper then buying from the company.

I highly recommend the MSI GS70 that's what I have and it's a beast.
