It's simple, Good services deserve tips bad services don't. I have never had a job where tips were apart of it but are they really that much compared to your paycheck?

everyone seems to be saying that tipping isn't required which in a way is true. I mean people don't have to give you money. Although as previously stated, people like waiters and delivery etc make a majority of their money from tips. Its kind of not the best thing to do, leaving a restaurant without tipping, but the customer is not being forced to.

Look at it this way, you have two people who didn't drop a tip, the next person comes in (lets say tip is 15%) that person give you 25%, well that extra 10% wont make up for the loss of two people, but it is extra money. I know how you feel man, it will all work into place.

But some jobs don't get paid per hour so they only get paid on tips or how much they sell. Plus if they were not financially stable why would they be buying a expensive meal?

Tips are earned not deserved. Not everyone tips. Get used to it. Sure, its the right thing to do in most cases, but don't act like your deserve one. The company provides you with a car. So I assume that pay for gas. Nothing is really coming out of your pocket so you don't NEED a tip. Plus you are new. Regulars will give tips. You can tall when a waiter is kissing ass. Even if they really aren't trying to. Earn your tips. Don't assume you deserve it.

For the people saying that "Companies don't pay alot, or by the hour" they are required to meet a certain amount. This amount is determined by your states minimum wage. Mine is $7.25/hour
If you work 20 hours and get paid 3.75 an hour you get $75.
Now take that 20 hours and times it by your states minimum wage. $145
If you make no tips then you job owes you $70.
This is why its important to calculate your own pay and keep track of tips.
