There are many benefits of building one and its very easy just requires a bit of research.

Manuals that come with components are mostly great and easy to follow.

The website is right in front of him with many great tutorials showing how to build a computer.

Heres one of the Good tutorials - [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Are there any good pre-builts?
No.

Pre-builts almost always use bad quality components, as well as low end GPU's etc. You'll get a PoS motherboard, PSU and GPU almost every time and waste your money.
