JTAG wiring but some sort of glitch/dual nand chip? Weird. The guy that did this must not have known what he was doing. Since the chip is black could it be from "Ace" or whatever the people are that make the Ace glitch chips?

TheWeekendModder wrote Okay, so looking at that it definitely looks like some sort of dual nand chip on the bottom of the board there, that is obviously a standard 16mb TSOP chip on that board - though I don't recognize the model.
Also as others have stated, it's some version or implementation of the JTAG hack based on the J2D2 wiring - however it looked pretty rough / possibly ruined.
As I've never seen that actual chip before, I'm curious enough to give it a look - if you want to cover all the shipping expenses I'd be happy to give it a once over and assuming it's a quick fix do it free.
Just to clarify though - I don't do RROD repair, so if you suspect it has RROD issues SalaMods might be a better fit as I believe he does RROD repair.
Alright man, Ill have to give that some thought but itll most likley be yes! But youll look at it for free if i pay for shipping? And I can fix the red ring, I just cant get the console to boot up properly so the new thermal past can melt back into place. DM me man.

I actually came across one of these cygnos v2s before (although I can't recall if it was a rev d like the one shown in this video) it came in a console lot I purchased off ebay.
It also had the j2d2 wiers soldered in place and it seemd very odd to me. Long story shot, I contacted the seller and he said it was just for nand reading purposes.
I did some research on the newer rev of this brand and it states it's now used only for nand reading purposes. Like I said before, I'm not sure of the version the one I recieve had, but it could very well be the same idea.
