Check out the actual challenge section in the operator section, because I think it's just completing those challenges for diamond. Congratulations though!

I've been doing this for every gun. All you have to do is get every camo except long shots and when you prestige just use the weapon you have every camo unlocked except long shots and get 1 kill and you'll get diamond. Hope this helped

Happened to me with my Bulldog
I still need to do the following challenges
150 kills with no perks
10 Dogfight medals
35 kills after sliding
I'm not complaining!
Free Diamond for me
I was playing infected and every kill I got it said I unlocked a camo but after the game the camo was either still locked or I already had that camo!
In one game I got 300 kill marksman challenge, 50 kill marksman challenge,40 Headshots and 60 spray and pray kills
I only got 12 kills in total!
Like I said free Diamond camo! I'm happy

Sledgehammer recently did a patch which allowed you to take your completed challenges into the next prestige, Turns out then must have got it wrong
After you prestige all you have to do is get a kill with your weapon and every challenge that was uncompleted on the weapon will be completed.
*NOTE: Only works if you have started the challenge.*
Enjoy your diamond or in my case Royalty!!! For as long as you can.. who knows what sledgehammer will do.
*Don't know if this has worked for others but it worked for me *
