Okay so Ive recently purchased a brand new ipod nano 16gb and when i turned it on and set it up via Language and such. I got a vertical and horizontal line crossing the center of the screen.

Anyone know how to fix this? is it an error? what do i need to do?

Lines showing up in the screen mean the LCD is broken or going out. Since you purchased it recently take it to your local Apple store or call Apple support and they should replace it.
