It's generally a FPS, but it's played for the most part with hip-fire apart from the snipers, and the Aug/ssg (I believe that's the name) which are automatic rifles with a sight on them. Because of it being mainly hipfire, It is a lot harder to hit people with if you don't know what you're doing. I would recommend to use burst or tap-fire as opposed to spraying unless you know the recoil pattern. Sorry to cut this off short but I'm doing something atm, if you want to either add me on here or send me a message and we can talk

If you're coming from COD, you're going to have a bad start, might be good at aiming, but aiming is much more in this than Cod.
In CSGO, most headshots mean a kill, unless with a weak weapon (starter pistol). Also in CSGO, more movement = more weapon spread, so you want to walk or crouch when making an attempt to aim and/or kill opponents.
A suggestion is to go verse bots, and up the difficulty with every win. They don't teach you many real CSGO tactics, but it helps you pick up your aim, and learn how to use many guns.
Good luck!

If you played CoD for a long time moving to CS:GO will suck to begin with. The weapons don't act the same you can't run around like a headless chicken spraying all over the place if you do your hit ratio will be about 10% or less.

All I can say is you will need to practice and get the hang of the game, playing online you will find people who have played for hundreds to thousands of hours so try not to rage and quit as it will take a little bit to learn.

if you played cod its pretty much the same type of gameplay but alot better cause theres no ads only on sg aug and snipers and make sure you tap fire not auto fire but yeah its just a aim and shoot also known as fps its really fun to play with friends but yeah its a bit harder to get used to but i think its worth the try

I recommend you go to youtube and watch starter/pro tip videos. They will help you. That's how I started.
