I don't think you should buy the OS since you can get it free. Then use the money from the OS to upgrade your gpu.

You have a processor on there of just 4.0 GHz for that price?
I have 4.2 GHz & 4.8 GHz and I got mine for a better price.
If you go to the correct companies then you can get all the best parts for less that $1,000+.

I replaced your 4TB hard drive for a 1TB Caviar Blue to save money because you probably wont even use 1TB of memory rather than 4TB. I also swapped out your PSU for a cheaper one but still preforms well. With all the money I saved I changed your Graphics card to a 970 instead of the 770 you had.[/font]

All the suggestions are pointless if you're planning to save for a build. Buy all your components at the same time. Prices change constantly and new components are always being released so buying one or two components at a time, over a while will mean you will get a lower quality build most likely.
You can get OS for free instead, if you're willing. This will give you an extra $130 towards components.
If you have the money right now, you could look at this;

It's a little less expensive. Better cooler, 3,5TB of storage with a good SSD. SLI 970's, nice case, good PSU and enough RAM. X99 isn't necessarily going to perform better. For gaming, the 4790k has actually been proven to perform the same, or even slightly better than the 5820k.
Although, we don't know what you're going to be using this for. Gaming/editing/rendering/internet?
