Ok so i got a Starbucks card the other day and it has $12 on there and i was wondering wether or not i could get in trouble for buying something using the card (i am going to be very careful not to go over the limit just incase).

If anyone knows anything about the legality of gift cards please tell me!

If it is a gift card then no you wont... They will just assume its you card regardless of what it is.

Unless it is a type of actual credit card of some sort and it was reported stolen then they might track where it is being used. But I doubt they will do shit dude.

I would worry that the gift card number could be tracked by to the owner

All gift cards have a specific number against it

If you used it and it belonged to someone else

Depending where you are from it could be considered fraud

Just use it. It's not like the person wrote down the number on the gift card. It's only a 12 dollar starbucks card. They don't have tracking devices in the.

They cannot do anything if it's just a gift card, if it is a credit card, I advise you to not spend anything. Hope I helped.
