hey guys so with Xmas coming up i thought i'd buy myself something new for my pc either a cpu and motherboard or a new GPU i'll list what i currently have and what i'm looking to get

what i currently have
motherboard : Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H Motherboard
CPU : intel core i7 2600

what i want
motherboard : ASUS Maximus VII Hero Motherboard
CPU : Intel Core i5 4690

GPU opt 1 : Galax GeForce GTX 970 Hall Of Fame 4GB
GPU opt 2 : Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 G1 Gaming 4GB

These are what i want and my power supply is fine it's a Corsair GS700watt

thanks in advance and the reason i've got 2 gpus listed is purely for abit of choice i'd probly rather the hall of fame but if there isant any difference i might aswel just save myself a few dollars and get the G1 but i also really want to upgrade my motherboard and cpu so what does everyone think ?

What is your budget and currency? (Pound sign does not work normally, use GBP abbreviation)
Do you need a monitor?
Do you need a keyboard?
Do you need a mouse?
Do you need an operating system?
What will you use the PC for?

I'd just go for a gpu instead as a sandy bridge i7 will be better than a haswell/broadwell i5 if you feel your pc is slow an slugish re install a os and get a SSD

What are your current specs including case? What is your budget and currency for your upgrades? Keep your current mobo and CPU, they're fine. Instead of upgrading them, you could send me the money. Just kidding, you could upgrade case instead if it's worth it. You could also add an SSD if you don't already have one.

We will also need to know the Make and model of your Powersupply mate.

Open up your side panel and it should have some kind of stickers on it with the brand and wattage.

My bad, thought you didn't list it but you clearly did

Only thing I can see worth upgrading is GPU. Even then, the 660 is a great little card. Decorating at the new house right now and can't remember prices in AUD off the top of my head, but I'm pretty sure a GTX 980 will be slightly out of your budget. I'd suggest upgrading to a GTX 970. Add another SSD if you wish and/or upgrade case.

i don't see any reason for upgrading my case and the gpus i've listed are in my budget so now i've just got to decide which one the

Galax GeForce GTX 970 Hall Of Fame 4GB which is $569aud

or
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 G1 Gaming 4GB which is $519aud
