So I made a Minecraft server today and it was going great until I got ddosed! I had to restart my whole router and everything

Is there a way to prevent this from happening in the future while still running my server?

-Cheers, Glxy

If you buy a host with DDoS protection, that would help you out alot.

Im not sure how to do it with your own server but, if you purchase a server from [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] it comes with DDoS protection I used to have one myself from them and it is really easy to setup.

Wait out the attack and have your service provider filter it.
What connection speed does your server have? Upgrading it can help lessen the attacks as well.

Get DDoS protection, for my computer I have a VPN and stopped paying for my Xbox VPN, I use CyberGhost. You might could connect a proxy to your server, I'm not very good with proxies though.

I've often got DDoS threats over Skype, and other websites, and just use a VPN.
I prefer Cyberghost 5, it's a good VPN and is pretty handy (lots of locations to choose from, etc) and ANML uses it too.

If you're afraid of being hit offline, just use a VPN and you'll be fine.
