Rash wrote Hey guys whats up, last night i was a sleep when i got an email so my phone made a alert noise like it should, i woke up to check it and unplugged it from the charger and it turned black screen, i tried turning it on and it is now completely dead! It doesn't connect to itunes and it doesn't turn on.

I've tried holding the home button and power button down at the same time so don't suggest that please! I will pay for a fix!

I want to avoid anything that involves going into my phone if possible:/

thanks!

You can try booting the phone while holding up on the volume as that is something that can get you out of the "Black Screen of Death" if you are jailbroken

When you say booting what do you mean haa sorry im so bad at this!
Holding down the lock button and the home button will, without fail, put it into recovery mode. Once in recovery mode, you should be-able to connect it via iTunes. May I also ask what jailbreak you were running?

I think it should also b noted you need to do the following steps above but will your iPhone is plugged into your computer. This is a key step.
It's also important when jailbreaking or getting into a locked device to have iTunes open or ready to recognize the device once it enters recovery mode. Hope this helps.

The problem is probably that the battery shorted out. Replacing it should fix it.

But if you want to turn it in to Apple, since it doesn't turn on and all Apple does with defective units is swap them out they won't find out its been jailbroken until they attempt to refurbish it, if they even do that, so no worries there.

If they found out it was jailbroken and has had a screen repair before but not off apple what would happen?

Because it's had a screen repair they won't swap it out. People that see lots of iPhones every day can immediately spot an aftermarket screen. Aftermarket screen means your warranty is void and Apple won't do anything with it.
Try taking it to a repair shop and see if they can fix it or try fixing it yourself.

I fixed it! I went inside the phone and just took the battery in and back out and it started working again! awesome!
