Hi,
I've not long ago finished high school and next year will start University (college).
I'll be travelling to and from the city every day, and need a laptop that is smallish and easy to travel with, but at the same time efficient and fast.
Most of you will probably think Macbook Pro/Air because they are so small, and that's true, but I was looking for something a little cheaper if possible.
Any suggestions would be great, thanks!

Depends where you're from but Mac with education discount can be pretty cheap. What would your budget be and is it for a basic lappy for word processing etc?

What's your budget? A little cheaper than a Macbook doesn't really say a whole lot considering they are at least $1,000.

Sorry guys, should have included that info.
I probably don't want to spend over $800. Maybe $850 at the very highest.
It will be generally for word processing and the internet, but at that price I'm hoping to get something that will at least be reliable and run fast for some time too.

Thanks for those suggestions. The thinkpad was one I had in mind too, seems pretty good. Didn't know that Dell one even existed. Thanks!
