Yes both those parts are compatible. Without knowing your other components I can't comment on overall performance.

What is your power supply and case?

for your CPU,RAM etc just download speccy..

Thanks for the help and this isnt my PC. My friend is upgrading his gfx card and wanted to know if this would fit so this is the place for fast help

Yes to check if its compatible with the whole system we need to know more mate.

Ask him the make and model of the power supply along with the case make and model

and..

to see if something else is more of a priority to upgrade over the GPU.
