looking to build a gaming pc and wondering if this would run games like COD
and have fast render time.
Also are their better pc's in this price range?

It's terrible, you didn't even include a GPU. What's your budget?

It's not terrible, CPU is good for the single core performance, PSU could be higher, say 500 watts? Ram would be better with 2 x 4GB sticks. And of course the GPU. But this is a good starter.

Im afraid your wrong kiddo.

Why is it bad?

-Stars wars overpriced case, on a budget and spends $80 on a case? in other words spend less on a case and more on components, its like putting a fiat punto engine into a ferrari.
-Cheaper corsair units are meant to be bad.
-Dead AM3 socket (well AMD is dead) meaning no upgrade path.
-Should get the OS the free way.
-1x8GB of ram is fine. and having 2x4GB won't change the performance and if so by a tiny tiny ammount that you wont even notice.

I'd be getting something like that.

I didn't judge it on the parts chosen or the brands and socket type, just the performance output. Also 2x4 is better than 1x8, think about it like this:

i5 4440 smashes the 4150 hands down, so why would you comment saying the CPU is is good for single core performance when the build can easily be much better, its basically saying hey that parts fine.

Also if OP didn't have a dedicated GPU/a low power consumption card then 400-450w would be fine.

Its nice to have 2x4 but will you NOTICE any difference? No you won't they perform almost identical to 1x8.

You also say this is a good starter?

It quite clearly is an awful starter due to my previous post on the socket being dead, NO gpu and a bad PSU.

op: If you go to use my build you could use the I5's IGPU and save another lets say $100 and get a more powerful card.

Using two RAM modules does increase the theoretical bandwidth for the memory, however benchmarks show that the real world improvement is marginal.

Edited DCFC's build slightly;

Motherboard with 4 RAM slots instead of 2, cheaper RAM and a non-modular PSU. These changes allow you to add an SSD and still be within budget after rebates.

Either that, or this;

No SSD but a better GPU. Still within budget after rebates.
