Hey guys have anyone of you ever connected a PS4 to a computer monitor?
I went and got a Hdmi to VGA converter that has a 3.5 mm jack to get the sound from the ps4 to computer speakers I have.
After doing this I had no luck and all the monitor did when I connected everything together was turn on and off like it was trying to recieve the input but nothing ever popped up.
Has anyone ever figured out how to do this? I have checked youtube and followed many tutorials but I have had no luck with them. So dont post saying to check google or youtube because I already have for a week straight. That is why I am asking everyone on TTG. Thanks, hope someone can help me.
EDIT:I found a tutorial finally that ended up working out for me. It is pretty spendy however I think it is worth it because my monitor is a very nice clean clear picture. (Better than my Vizio TV)
Here is the link to the tutorial I found that ended up working. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Everything that is needed I was able to find at my local Radio Shack. Not sure if you have one in your area but I know Best buy didnt have these items where I live.
Total Spending was $100.65

The HDMI to VGA adapter might be broken! If not you might have to get a monitor with HDMI input!

I just bought it and I tested it with connecting the HDMI end to my laptop and then have the vga end into my monitor and it worked just fine.
The monitor is brand new and does not have built in speakers. Therefore it does not have an HDMI port on it because there is no need for sound because HDMI is video and audio.

Don't take my word for this but, on the PS3 (I think) you gotta hold down the power button when you connect it to a new different source so it brings up the menu to setup the display. I read that online somewhere a while ago and maybe it's for PS4 too?
I'm not 100% sure but I might be a possibility. Also, you should just connect it HDMI to HDMI cause if your monitor doesn't have a HDMI port, it could have a slow response time like my old monitor, that's why I bought a new one!

You dont have to do that for the PS4 but thanks for the tip. Most monitors dont have speakers in them even if they are brand new model. As mine does not. That is why there is a DVI and AVG ports on them because they are strictly for video.
Anyways I was able to figure out a system that works. Unfortunatly it is pretty spendy but if you guys look above there is a link to a tutorial that I used and it ended up working.
Thanks for your guys advice and hope this can help a few of you guys out there.
