When I use my account it say's I have no xbox live, however when I try to enter a 14 day trial, it say's "you have xbox live, why not give this code to a friend" how can I fix this?

The payment option you have is expired. I had the same problem. Call Xbox and tell them. They will remove your old payment type and add a new one of your choice.
