You're using a GTX 970 for 900p gaming? It's a card aimed more towards 1440p users, you'd benefit from a monitor upgrade if you are using a 900p monitor.

Also, with that CPU, anything more powerful than something like an R9 270 is a waste since the CPU will hold the card back.

What would be a good FM2 cpu that would avoid bottlenecking with the gpu?

Your best bet is to upgrade to an i5 if you can afford it really. 760k is the best FM2 CPU you're going to get and I'm assuming you have an FM2 motherboard, not FM2+ since I'm almost certain I seen you mention something like that in one of your other posts. An 860k would be a slight improvement over the 760k, but not much and you'd need an FM2+ motherboard. Upgrading to something like an i5-4440 will give you significantly better performance.

I do have a FM2+ motherboard and I just returned a 860k because the board was out of date and I did not want to risk the board trying to update it.

So are you suggesting that I should upgrade my board to a intel board & cpu?

860k will offer a slight improvement over the 760k, but it's not really justifiable upgrade. Intel's per core performance is far superior to that of FM2+ and something like an i5 isn't going to hold the GTX 970 back, but that 760k will. I can't remember who it was, but I remember seeing an article somewhere and someone had tested the 760k with multiple GPUs, ranging from an R7 260, to an R9 290. After the 270, there was minimal performance increase in games due to the 760k holding the likes of the 280 and 290 back. If you can, upgrade to Intel. If you're overclocking, Z97 board and a 4690k(or 4790k if you want the hyperthreading offered with an i7). If you're not overclocking, H97 board and an i5-4460, or Xeon if you want hyperthreading.

So I guess ill start saving money again to upgrade. I'm thinking Intel Core i5-4460 but idk what should I do for the mobo? I also have a hyper master cooler so what do you think I can overclock the i5 to, since it comes at 3.2ghz?

Can't overclock a 4460, it's a locked CPU. You need a "k" class CPU from Intel in order to overclock and a Z series motherboard. What are your full specs, including case and PSU make and model? How much would you like to spend on an upgrade?

My case is a mid tower NZXT s340, psu is a 600w corsair (I know, I'm on that line of needing to upgrade to higher psu), 24gb ddr3 ram (all low profile). I'm not looking to spend to much not anything crazy. So around 300-450 is a good number.

Currency? Is that a CX600 you've got? If so, I'd upgrade PSU soon. You're looking to overclock right? Do you need SLI support?
