While Republicans hope legislation approving the Keystone XL pipeline will pass a Senate vote on Friday, the White House says that President Barack Obama will not sign it anyway.

The US Senate is planning to vote at the end of the week on the controversial Keystone XL pipeline, which would transport crude oil from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico, House Majority leader Kevin McCarthy told The Wall Street Journal on Monday.

Key Republican Senator John Hoeven told Bloomberg on Monday that the legislation he will submit has 63 votes. This means it would lack four votes to overcome Obama's veto.

On Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said he doesn't expect Obama to sign the legislation, even if it passes the new Republican-led US Congress. He added that the State Department's review process should not be undermined by legislation.

What is wrong with Obama? Gas prices are low, unemployment is dropping and he has brought our soldiers home from the Middle East.

Back on topic: With the price of Oil at $50 per barrel there is no reason for the Keystone XL pipeline to completed, fracking and tar sands business can't make any money at this price. And with OPEC keeping up their current supply gas and oil prices will probably keep dropping. Time to give wind and solar a boost America

Obama has nothing to do with gas prices, unemployment is still higher than it was during Bush's years, and hardly.

The last time unemployment was this low was in July of 2008. I talked about gas prices being low because people seem to call for the president's head whenever something goes wrong while they are in office, when gas is high they blame Obama, when they are low and it is hurting industries they blame Obama. Thank you for the sources, the first one was a good article

You do realize 2008 was Bush's year, right?
When Obama became president, unemployment spiked in 2009, and they've been recovering from that ever since.

it isn't Obama's fault that the great recession happened, you are conforming to the aforementioned group of people who blame him for everything.

I'm not blaming him for anything.
I was refuting the fact that you brought up unemployment being down when defending him.

I can't blame everything on Obama the same way you can't give him credit for everything positive in America.

I don't understand why it did not pass the first time. This pipeline will create more jobs for Americans and increase the mobility oil has in the US.
