5k-mods is the seller that i bought my RGH from. The console took a little bit to get here, but i haven't had a issue since.

To be honest, I would prefer Rodent or WeekendModder, because I have noticed that 5k Mods takes a long time to ship out.

I would suggest rodent. I can vouch for him. Whenever I had a question I always got an instant response from him, he's a very cool guy

The KV contains serial number information, so you won't need to change a serial number.

XBLSE is free for now, but might not be in future dashes. Generally on XBLSE KVs last 1-48hrs. KVs are generally bought (advertised as unshared) for $10-$20 a peice, you
May get a discount for bulk purchases depending on your seller.

The RGH service will be RGH2, of course, and your console is a slim model I'm assuming based on the MFR date.

The actual service will be around $50-$65, and then you'll have to pay roughly $20 to ship it out to the seller.

Expect to pay $100 at LEAST a month if you want to CONSTANTLY be online. (That's using the free server, expect to pay more for a paid server)

Also, just a heads up, the odds of you making ANY money I'd say are 1/100000. Nobody pays for lobbies. If they do, it's a MINISCULE amount. You're starting too late in the game to make money. XBL will stop being supported eventually, and you'll have wasted possibly hundreds of dollars.

I recommend you don't listen to you "friends" that host lobbies, because they most likely aren't as successful as they say. Modding and getting a good name takes LOTS of time and effort. The time is something you don't have since XBL will be gone eventually.

My personal recommendation to you, learn as much as you can. I don't personally think going online is worth it, and you'll regret spending all the money in the end. However, the knowledge you keep will be worth a lot. Generally I'm more of an ass, but you seem like you're ready to learn.

Good luck, and make the right choice for yourself.

EDIT; "XBLSE will stop being supported" changed to XBL will stop being supported, my bad. Damn autocorrect.

@Psychonauts

Great post ^. Wraps up everything for me. Right now I'm just experimenting.

360 will eventually fade out due to next gen but I kinda want this for going online to play with friends and maybe system link once in a while. I know there isn't lots of money to be made because of this kind of business there isn't as much high demand.

I just want something to do outside of school that's different, and this seems like a cool thing to do every once in a while.

I've been looking into modding for about 3 years now (coming from PS3 into Xbox) for Xbox but just consisted of late night studying and procrastination. Realizing that this is the wrong time to start, I'm optimistic and might just be doing this for fun.

Thanks for the post, really helped me out.

(I'll rep you on my other acc)

What's the easiest way, (if anyone is still viewing this), to keep your retail to be unbanned. So let's say I host on one router with my RGH Xbox 360, and have my Xbox One on the same router. When they ip ban, does it go forward to XB1 also? If not, I don't have any other XB360 retail.

And if anyone could help me with the steps of getting my RGH set up when I get it, I'd offer some type of compensation for your help because of me being new. Thanks!

I've not heard of XB1 bans because of a RGH, however I suppose it is possible. I've been online with a trinity RGH while my siblings were online with their retails (they had 3 stock xboxs online while I was online, that's 4 xboxs total). In fact, I was banned WHILE they were playing online. They never got banned.

The chances of you getting banned are slim to none, but yeah I suppose it can happen. Others say it can/will, but from my personal expirence it won't.

If you're really concerned about it, make sure your consoles aren't online while you are, and change/spoof your MAC address. (They don't IP ban)
