I have an hdmi cable to plug my iPad into the TV. I recently updated my iPad to the latest iOS 8. And now my iPad tells me that the hdmi cable isn't supported by this iPad.

Anyone give me reasoning for this or a way to fix it?

Possibly is there another tweak or something to view my iPad on my tv. I like to watch movie box on my iPads t my tv

Not to sure about a tweak. it is much easier to just mirror the screen through wifi which is exactly why i would suggest an apple TV.

If i am not wrong im pretty sure they made sure that you have to buy a apple tv for that stuff to work with the new IOS update. I could be wrong though. Google is your friend on this one!

I've had this problem a couple of times updated to ios 8.1.1 plugged in charging cable got a message saying "This appliance may not be supported by your device" i bought a new charge seemed to work fine.

I would reccomend either downgrading or getting a new HDMI cable dude

Try and download Support Unsupported Accesories from Cydia. Then enable it in settings.

You can use a Cydia tweak called, "Display Out" for this issue.

I just got a HDMI to Lightning port and it works with my tv. However I am using a iPhone 6+ not an iPad though I would think that that should not be an issue
