You may want to consult a professional dentist.
The tooth may be impacted and need to be removed.
I know I have a phobia of dental work for whatever reason, but that would be your best bet for the long term solution.
Just a tip, caffeine suppresses the effect of novocaine dramatically.
For a short term solution, cold/heat treat the gums. Suck on some ice, then rinse with some warm liquid to relax the flesh.
Hope it works out, tooth pain is a horrible thing, but pain is your body telling you that something is wrong.

Like what Imgur said drink some really cold water and if you have exposed nerves you will be able to tell. it will sting for about 5 seconds then go away it makes eating and drinking stuff a big pain. You will have to go get them taken out.
