i am doing a tutorial for a game and want to put text over the video but when ever i create the text i can't edit the text so it just says sample text

Zoom in on the top layer
then there should be a little icon with a video thing in it...
I cant give you screenshots cause my pc is not on internet atm...
but if you zoom in on the layer you have your text in on the reel it should have a kind of square thing that looks like a video click on that and there you can edit your text
