No where in the article did it say the world was going to end that night.

It's not true, all of that stuff is just stuff to scare people.

A clock can't predict the end.

Ugh.

The clock doesn't predict the end of the world, nor is it supposed to, and even if it was predicting the end of the world, it wouldn't be the clock doing it.
It would be the people behind the scenes thinking about climate change, war, famine, etc. who set the clock.

It's supposed to be allegorical of how close we are to destruction.
It's not saying, 'The world is going to end at this time.'
It is saying, 'With all of these different factors taken into account, the world is close to disaster and something needs to be done.' or, '"... ", the world is quite safe.'

It's supposed to get people thinking about the world and what they can do to help, it's not meant to be laughed at by people saying 'When it's time, it's time.'

and how you can sit there and laugh at what other people believe is beyond me.
