He is a hero. He done his job and very well.

i guess the politics of the legitimacy of the war and if it is a just war come in to play but that is a different argument. He done what he was told to do. Also RIP, he didn't deserve to die in the way he did.

Well first you have to understand what "cold blooded killers" enjoy about killing a person. It's the control they gain. Killing a person is the most control you can gain over that person, because you can decide whether they are going to walk away or whether they aren't. People who enjoy killing, enjoy the power they can exert over that person because they have control of the most important thing to anyone: their life. So now you take a step back and analyze Chris Kyle and ask yourself, "Did Kyle have a control problem anywhere in his life, military or other wise?". The answer to that would be no. Chris Kyle did not sign up for the Navy and become a SEAL because he thought it was a free chance to gain power and control in his life through killing people. He signed up because he was willing to do whatever he needed to do to protect his troops and country. So in closing, was Chris Kyle a "stone cold killer"? No. He was a motivated SEAL who was willing to do what it takes.

He was just doing his job. Of course people sign up for the military to kill, no doubt, even if that is what he did (highly doubt it), he was doing what the commander and the people above him were telling him to do. He is a hero no doubt.

Regardless of if they're "cold blooded murders" or not, they're over there fighting a war to protect you. Quit bitching about that and be a little more respectful. You couldn't live a day in their shoes and see half the shit they do.

I'm not/wasn't a fan of the man. Maybe he got in for the right reasons. It seems that he changed during the war, though. I'm not someone who automatically calls people in uniform "heroes." They are doing their job. If they go beyond the call of duty, then sure. I don't see where Chris Kyle did. I do question how many innocent people were in his kill count as well. Considering the lies he has told and the pleasure he got from killing, I just can't get behind someone like that.

The lies? Innocent people? Why would he kill a random civilian? There would be absolutely no point. Also, being the best sniper in the military is going above the call of duty imo...

He lied about sitting on top of the Super Dome and shooting 30 looters during hurricane Katrina, he lied about getting into a fight with Jesse Ventura, he lied about killing two men who tried to steal his truck, and he lied about chemical weapons being found in Iraq which came from Germany and France.

Considering that when he was asked if all of his kills were clean he responded with, 'I only wish I had killed more' and 'I don't shoot anybody with a Quran, I'd like to, but I don't' I find it incredibly hard to believe that all of his kills were terrorists.

Because there have been thousands of innocent people that died in Iraq due to the war. Making the decisions a sniper has to make, I am sure there had to at least been one innocent person. Since he said he enjoyed war, I am leaning towards it being more than that (though that is just me speculating.)

Yea, lies. Lies about hitting Ventura. Lies about killing carjackers. Lies about being on the Superdome in New Orleans during Katrina and killing dozens of people.

At the end of it all, we should have never been in Iraq to begin with. Thousands of innocent people gone because of the government and the media.

I can't say that having the most snipe kills in the American military is the same as being one of the best snipers (I would look at accuracy, distance, and ratio of hostile/innocent killed.) Also, being the best sniper doesn't mean above the call of duty to me either. He was doing his job. Unless he went out of his way to save people, then he didn't go above and beyond. Jumping on grenades, jumping on AA guns when you are severely outnumbered, and dragging/carrying a fellow soldier while you are still being shot at is above and beyond.
