I have a jail broken iPhone 4S running 6.0.2 and I deleted a couple of photos I want back so I searched around in ifile and couldn't find anything. Then I figured I'd go for the Hail Mary and download a few data recovery tools and see what the trials bring up. The only one that seemed to find the pictures was tenorshare so I know the file name and I know the picture is still on there but I can't seem to locate it in ifile. Any recommendations besides spending a crapload on a tool I'll never use again?
File is a .JPG starting with DEL_

Once you have deleted the picture, it is gone forever. The only iOS to have a feature to save files temporarily after being deleted is 8. And, even then it is not forever.

If that we're true why would I be able to find it along with other files I've deleted with tenorshare. They aren't files that have ever been on my computer so obviously the tools finding them hidden somewhere on my device

okay, I downloaded it just to see what's its all about, and right enough it finds deleted pictures, contacts, call history, everything pretty much that has been deleted it can recover it. You would probably need to download the pro version of the software so that you can recover your files easily instead of looking for another similar. I've got a torrent for a cracked version just waiting for it to download, will get back to you on the results.

Thanks! Better than spending the $ for a one time use

Try Any iPhone Data Recovery
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

It reads backups and you are able to recover photos from them.
Its not free, but if youre desperate, no cost is too much. Plus, it seems like a handy thing to keep around in a pinch.

There is a windows/mac version available.

If you read the post I said tenorshare was the only one that worked and I'm looling for a way that doesn't cost me anything as I dont have the money to spend on that

Edit: it's also not a backup I'm reading its the device itself
