Yep.
1. Go into online with your main
2. Drive for a while (wait till you recieve a text)
3. Create a new character. Any looks and name, doesn't matter yet.
4. Get that character to rank 6.
5. Once you hit rank 6, go to single player.
6. Then go to select character, select your newly-made level 6.
7. Upon loading, you'll be asked if you want to change your appearence, that's where you pull your ethernet out (or switch off router).
8. It'll kick you to single player - don't log in yet!
9. Go to select character, then it'll say Connect to Xbox LIVE, do so.
10. Then select your main character, after a few seconds you'll be asked again to change your appearence, from there click A to change
