Quick question about windows 8.1 and the space it takes up

Okay so i want to know how much space it will take up i wanna buy a m.2 ssd to put it on.
Online it says it about 20gb but will or could it be more will updates and stuff?

it will be around 20GB, but my Win 7 takes up 26GB so leave a bit of headroom.

I'd suggest larger because the install size will increase with updates as you said (it keeps some installer files) and it's best to store programs on the drive as well. Other nice things to have on the drive are the page file, hibernation file, and free space for better performance. 120/128GB drives should not be much more than 64GB drives.

Ya i was thinking of grabbing a 120gb or a 64, im just going to put windows on it. Then grab a 500 gb ssd down the road for games and other programs

If you want to use M.2 then I'd get a 120GB or 240GB then use a WD Green as a storage drive as they are quiet enough.
