So a couple of weeks ago I received my laptop back from the shop after external repairs. They did a factory reset on my laptop and I lost everything.
Before they did the factory reset I had no issues disabling my laptop with the FN+ F9 combo and now there is no option for me to disable my touchpad at all. The reason I would like it disabled is because I have a USB mouse I'm using. Another reason is that when I'm typing my hand may hit the touchpad and may cause me to screw up when I type.

I'm wondering if there is something I'm missing or if I need to install certain drivers for me to be able to disable it again.

Any and all help will be very appreciative.

Thanks

There may be manufacturer provided utilities which allow the function keys to work, whats the model of your laptop?

Either a model name and number on the top, or on the underside on a manufacturers sticker.

This site has the drivers for your laptop: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Under the Utilities section is where I would look.

If thats the touchpad drive itself its not the right thing. I'd look for something to do with the function keys. There was something under the Utilities heading i recall.
