Let me tell you where I'm coming from. I'm a freshman in college and about finished with this year. I absolutely hate college, and it's not just this one. This is my second school in 2 semesters and I hated it at the first one too. The news is going crazy over in the next few years, Delta and American Airlines will have tons of job openings in the next few years. With 30 hours already under my belt of flying, I want opinions on if I should just quit school and persue flying, work for a smaller, executive company for a couple years then apply and hopefully work for a bigger airline here in a few years. I understand that this is ultimately my decision, but I don't know. I feel like if I decide to do this, I'll be disappointing my family and breaking the social norm by not attending university and getting a degree. I am just looking for opinions. Whether you've been in my shoes or not anything helps. Thank you.

Ignore what your family thinks and the "social norm" is a joke.
If your family loves you, they will not be disappointed in what you want to pursue in life. If you love to fly, I say keep going and I'm sure your family will say that as well. But if they don't, ignore them. It's your life.

Do what makes you happy not your family or friends because real family and friends will stay with you

Go with what you want.
I know alot of "Rich men" and quite frankly they got dropped out of school early to go do work and builded there way up.
I know it may seem silly and men that still attend school do seem to go far but there is many paths to take and you just need to follow the right one.

If you don't like college, DON'T go. It is your life and you should do whatever it is you want.
