1) Just disassemble your Xbox controller and remove the middle (X) button.

2) Once it is removed grab your favourite colour in nail polish, and make a light coating over the bottom of the button.

3) Give it a minute to dry and put it back in place and re assemble the controller.

4) If you want to check if you like the color just reassemble the circuit boards and put the back of the controller on, and put some batteries in so you can light it up.

5) If you don't like the colour or want to change it just use some nail polish remover and try again.

Thanks and REP will help but it's not necessary!

Here are some examples of people who did this:

Here is my controller. I am selling this so PM me if interested and I will provide proof.
Picture of LED was taken before I put controller together. I can make updated photos of LED tomorrow.

It's not that hard to do this. It's much easier than soldering and you can get some cool effects. This technique would be so good with custom LEDs.

I have not tried this as I have a white sunset overdrive controller which can't be bought separately.
I will be doing this on a different controller at some point.
The green controller is the one my friend made.

Watch a tutorial on how to take apart an xbox controller then just put a thin layer on the guide button. I saw a video and it's about 5 times harder to take an xbox one controller apart than an xbox 360 controller.
