Ok so I've installed linux on my desktop and everything is working fine except I can't get it to connect to my wifi network. I've tried mint 17.1 and I'm now on Ubuntu 14.04 and I have the same issue. I doubt it's my wifi card because I can connect to my mobile hotspot just fine. Is there a specific way the network needs to be configured?

I myself have not used Linux other than messing around with it and seeing what I can do with it, but I do remember having these issues when I first started using it, and rember using videos and the link that I will post below to help me along the way. Hope it helps you as well.

It ended up being my DHCP setting blocking me from connecting. Thank you all for your time.
