doing a paper that requires me to perform a marxist analysis of The Lottery by Shirley Jackson, and i was wondering if an inanimate event (the lottery itself) could be perceived as "the bourgeois" itself? is this possible? or is it just whoever put the first lottery into place in the story.(keep in mind the lottery is not a positive thing to win in this short story)
